Storm damage
Storm & Hail Damage Roof Repair in Barrington, NJ
Wind lifts along the edges and hail bruises the field, and neither is reliably visible from the ground. We go up, photograph what we find and write it down in the form an adjuster can work from.

Wind damage shows where the covering is least held down: the rake edges, the ridge, the first courses above a gutter. Shingles do not have to be gone for the seal to have broken, and a shingle that has lifted once will lift again in the next blow. Hail is subtler. It bruises the mat under the granules and knocks grit loose in a scattered pattern, which reads as ordinary wear from the driveway and as damage up close. Soft metal around the roof — vents, flashing, gutters — usually carries the clearest dents and is the first thing we photograph.
What we document
Slope by slope
Each elevation photographed separately so the pattern of the hits is legible later.
Test squares
A marked area on each slope with the strikes counted, which is how hail claims are usually measured.
Soft metal evidence
Vents, drip edge and gutters, where dents show even when the shingles are ambiguous.
Interior effects
Any staining or daylight in the attic that follows from the hits above it.
The date it happened
Noted against the storm, because a claim made months later gets harder to support.
The written scope
What has to be done, in order, with figures, rather than a lump sum.
Working alongside a claim
We are roofers rather than public adjusters, and we will not tell you what your policy owes you. What we will do is produce documentation specific enough that an adjuster is looking at the same roof we looked at, and be on site when they come out if that helps. If the claim is denied or the damage falls under the deductible, the repair still gets priced the ordinary way and you decide from there.
Making it safe meanwhile
If the covering is open, the first job is keeping the weather out. A properly fastened tarp over a dried surface will hold for weeks; something thrown over a wet slope and weighted with bricks will not last the next gust and tends to do more damage on the way off. Tell us what is open when you call and we will come and make it right before anything is priced.
Start with the free inspection
We come out, go over the roof properly and leave you with a written figure. Nothing is charged for that and nothing is booked off the back of it.
